Loss comes in many different forms.
Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, of community, hopes and dreams, or the anticipation of a loss that is about to come, loss is painful.
If you’re here, then you know that pain all too well.
You know that everyone experiences loss in their life, but that doesn’t change the emotional whirlwind happening inside of you.
You might be feeling a confusing mixture of numbness, anger, relief, sadness, guilt, loneliness, emptiness, shame, or anxiety.
These emotions can feel isolating and overwhelming.
Grief can be one of the most painful and isolating experiences of life. From my own experiences with grief, I understand the confusion and pain that comes with loss.
I also understand the strength and deep connection that can emerge when we have the support to cope, heal and integrate experiences of loss.
By integrating a holistic mind, body, and spirit approach, I help you process your pain in a way that honors and builds upon your strength.
I want to help you find a way out of the darkness and back to love, empathy, and connection.
In our darkest moments, I believe that we can uncover resilience we never imagined was there.
We can learn to embrace vulnerability, to lean on others for support, and find joy again.
You don’t have to carry this pain alone.
Finding a psychotherapy counselling therapist you can trust is extremely important to healing. I have laid out the standard roadmap of what working with me will look like to help you know what to expect.
1.
Read the website and get to know a little bit about me, the type of clients I work with and the issues I commonly treat. See if anything resonates with you.
If you see yourself in any of this, reach out to schedule a no-commitment consultation call.
I’ll ask you some questions to get a better understanding of your concerns. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask me any questions to make sure I’m a good fit.
I’ll explain the process and next steps for payment, booking, intake, and frequency.
We begin building a relationship, understand how this problem formed, and develop goals to guide our work together.
I’ll ask you questions to help you look at old issues in new ways, understand where you're getting stuck, and equip you with tools to begin to heal.
Depending on the nature of your issue, the type of therapy, and the desired outcome, this can include talk therapy, somatic (body) work, skill building (nervous system regulation, communication, strengths and values embodiment), guided meditations, dream analysis, or spiritual counselling.
The length and number of sessions will differ depending on your needs.
Depending on the nature of the issues and the desired outcomes, some clients reach their intended outcome at 12 sessions.
In more complex cases, clients may benefit from additional ongoing support.
Together, we regularly assess the therapeutic progress to determine if we are moving in the right direction, and make changes where needed.
When it’s time to end, we review the progress you've made, and set next steps to help you maintain the growth you have developed outside of therapy.
I’m passionate about empowering people who feel misunderstood, ashamed, anxious, and lonely, to feel comfort and acceptance in their own mind, body, and spirit.
I love seeing the energy and excitement on clients’ faces when they start to feel empowered in their lives – when people and places no longer bring up anxiety, when their relationships feel supportive, and they thrive in their careers.
How I developed my passion for working with trauma, anxiety, identity, loss, and spiritual crises.
My own healing journey wasn’t straightforward. I experienced complex childhood trauma, and was surrounded by communities that reinforced shame.
I went through most of life being made to feel that I was the problem for not simply getting over my past and moving on. And believe me… I tried!
What I didn’t know was that all the things I felt made sense. Feeling social anxiety in groups, feeling lonely and detached even when I was in relationships, and wanting connection but not knowing how to let people in.
These were all products of intergenerational trauma, racism, and oppression. Being able to safely explore these feelings at my own pace with skilled therapists helped me learn to love and trust myself, find new meaning in my faith, and cultivate supportive relationships.
Therapy, taught me the tools needed to live a life of connection, meaning, and purpose.
I’ve made it my mission to pass these skills on to folks like you who are ready for meaningful and intentional change.
If you’re ready to ditch the wounds of the past and live a fulfilling life, let’s talk.
